Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council continue to interact with the Basingstoke & Deane Community promoting the 'Basingstoke Get Active' initiative.

Interaction with local Sporting League and Clubs plus Schools and QMC College alongside other relevant local organisations have to date created improved partnerships and awareness of Sport & Health activities available locally. Both the BVSC Website and Facebook pages are updated on a regular basis with relevant information to promote Sport & Health activities. Features in local press plus numerous face to face meetings with clubs have identified current success, increased memberships plus issues to be tackled over the coming months.

Additionally, existing initiatives including #thisgirlcan and a range of awareness days plus Sport England and Energise Me promotions including details on Volunteering, Coaching and Officiating have been undertaken. The project is now also focussed on the 'Commonwealth Games Legacy Initiative' for 2022 which hopes to improve Club to School links locally. Additionally, getting older people more active and healthy is another objective.

This initiative is only possible with the funding support from Sovereign Housing, Greenham Trust, D&B Facades alongside Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council.
