Regular sporting news items in the local Gazette newspaper feature Basingstoke Town Football Club, Basingstoke Rugby Club etc and soon the Basingstoke Bison Ice Hockey again. Other coverage includes submissions received ad hoc from various local sports including Bluefins Swimming, Basingstoke Gymnastic Club, Cricket, Athletics, Martial Arts, Golf, Hockey, Tennis among many others.
However, the Gazette plus Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council would really like to see regular increased sports coverage for Basingstoke & Deane. Not just major sport success but also coverage of school and club sport plus partnership working between Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council, BDBC, Destination Basingstoke, Energise Me etc.
Sports not currently submitting on a regular basis are therefore strongly encouraged to do asap via newsdesk@basingstokegazette.co.uk. Also feel free to share achievements with Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council's Facebook Page.
