Basingstoke Voluntary Action (BVA), Basingstoke Sports Council (BSC) and BDBC are jointly hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Workshop for Sports Clubs.  The recent club survey highlighted that the majority of clubs are in need of more volunteers and can struggle to recruitment new ones.  This workshop will give clubs and understanding of how to properly manage and support volunteers at their clubs, provide advice on role descriptions and provide guidance on policies, insurance and data protection.  In addition advice will be given on how to go about recruiting volunteers and acknowledging their valued support.

The workshop will be delivered by El Taylor-Jenks from Energise Me and Kevin Laing from BVA and BSC.   As well as going through the above, El will go through the benefits of using sites such as Join In whilst Kevin will outline the Volunteer North Hants system.  There will then be an open discussion session where clubs can share any success stories or particular areas of struggle.

If time allows then there may also be a section on funding pots available locally and nationally and tips for successful application.  Or it may be that a separate session is run in the future for this topic.
